DfE Announcement: Bubbles

DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Good afternoon, everyone.

You may have heard the announcement from the Department for Education this afternoon regarding changes to 'bubbles' in schools. (I have included the updated operational guidance for schools at the bottom of this message.)

Please be assured that we are working hard to consider these changes, as well as the implications for us as a school, before we communicate what this means for pupils, staff and parents/carers.
I must inform you that we have had an increase in the number of children and staff self-isolating as a result of coming into contact with positive cases in the wider community.

Therefore, in an effort to try and reduce any further disruption to the children's education, I need to remind us all that it is vital that we all continue to follow the government guidance about how to limit the chance of virus transmission. I ask for your support both in school and outside of school to follow government guidance on self-isolation, social distancing, hand washing, and wearing face coverings. Please also take advantage of the LFD testing available as well as the vaccination programme for adults.

I will be in touch with further information about any changes to our Covid-19 risk assessment and the safety systems in place at school, when we have taken the time to consider our next steps.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and understanding.
