Year 5 Jorvik Trip

Year 5 travelled back in time to Jorvik on Wednesday, in preparation for their upcoming Vikings topic.

The children took part in three activities during the day including: a battle tactics workshop, an archaeological dig and an insightful tour of the Jorvik museum itself. Children were able to learn about Viking weapons as well as take part in their very own archaeological dig. Here, the children uncovered animal bones and the remains of buildings. Learning about the everyday life of a Viking as well as how they used the land and resources around them links directly to our upcoming topic lessons.

We are very proud of the children as their behaviour and maturity throughout the trip was outstanding - they were a credit to the school!
