Parent & Carer Guide | Latest News | School re-opening March 8th
PARENT/CARER RE-OPENING GUIDE - Please see the attached parent guide for the whole school re-opening on Monday, 8th March. Please read the guidance carefully as, although many of the systems in school remain the same as the autumn term, it also contains some key changes. We can’t wait to have everyone back together!
Here are a few key highlights from the guide:
FRIDAY FULL DAYS
From Monday, the school will remain open as per normal all week. This means that the earlier collection of children on Friday afternoons during lockdown is not continuing.
SCHOOL START TIMES
To help with the one way system and make sure that we get back into the good routines we were in before Christmas, I am extending the dropping off 'window' in the morning. School gates will open at 8:30am and classroom doors will be open from 8:30am. The classroom doors will close at 9:00am. This is a 15 minute longer period of time each day to help support your getting your child into school safely. Remember, PLEASE DO NOT ALL ARRIVE AT 8:30AM as this will create long queues. I have extended the end of the window by 5 minutes so you can arrive at anytime until 9:00am to avoid the queues! Only one adult will be allowed onto the school site to pick up and drop off children.
PARK LANE CLOSED
Please also note that Park Lane will be closed for roadworks from 16th - 20th March. This will make this area very congested, so we advise that you walk to school if possible and leave in plenty of time to avoid unnecessary congestion.
YEAR 5 & 6 WALK ON THEIR OWN
We encourage parents of Y5/6 children to allow their child to walk through the one-way system independently, dropping them at the main school entrance. Staff will be placed along the one-way system. Doing this will help to reduce the numbers of people on site during the morning.
PARENT/BUBBLE LFD TESTING
We encourage all parents to test themselves using lateral flow tests to prevent the continued transmission of the virus via asymptomatic adults. Information about this can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/rapid-lateral-flow-testing-for-households-and-bubbles-of-school-pupils-and-staff?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_source=ca1c659b-95d6-490e-87c6-d6c09e85ecfb&utm_content=immediately
ONE-WAY SYSTEM
This will still be in place next week. Please continue to adhere to this when arriving on the school site.
FACE COVERINGS
We are still asking for your support with wearing a face covering whilst on the school site.
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning!
Thank you.
